"Tristian"

Tristian was my hold back puppy from Isabella and Vic's litter. I intentionally wanted to hold back a pup with a lot of potential not only "just in case" Merlin didn't turn out (he has!) but in hopes of finding a home that would allow him to reach his full potential. Dual homes are few and far between, and Trist was definitely a dual prospect! I came very near to just keeping him, about a hundred times in fact. He did get a chance to stay with friends a few times, mostly to separate him from his brother for a while, but that perfect home? It just wasn't showing up.

I brought Tristian with me to Nationals in 2011 as a 6 month old puppy. He won his class in sweepstakes, despite being a little overwhelmed! The following spring, in an effort I think to still focus on my actual keeper (who was I kidding) I entered Trist in only one day vs. Merlin's two at the spring field trials. Trist's 2nd time out he ran away, quite literally, with a 2pt Amateur Puppy win! The conversation on our way back in went something like this; "That dog is going to win championships...", "Not with me he won't, how the hell am I supposed to train him?!" I knew I was over my head but I couldn't let him go just anywhere either.

It turns out that run is what found him his perfect home. He now resides with Shan & Lynda Wessels in Conneticut along with a older half brother (FC/AFC Little Rock It Man) and is on his way to a great career. I will not mind in the slightest losing to him in the field! He will also be shown and work towards his dual championship, something this lovable dog so deserves! But the part part of it all is he gets to sleep on the bed, follow Lynda around, play with the cat, and have lots of bird work w/ Shan! I couldn't have hoped for a better home.
